There is nothing like a mothers love
“An appreciation song about my mum and all the great mothers and mother figures out there.”- Vimbai-Rose
Following a very successful 2019, which concluded with her winning Upcoming Musician of the year at the Zimbabwean Young Achievers Awards last December. South East London born and Hertfordshire raised singer-songwriter with influences that stem from Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu and Sade and a rare ability to not shy away from the harsh realities of life in her music. Vimbai-Rose returns to the fold sharing her heartwarming new single ‘Mothers love’. Bringing us a blend of Soul, nostalgic 90s R&B dressed in honey-glazed vocals that dance upon the sun-soaked harmonies and a catchy chorus.
Speaking on the song Vimbai-Rose explained “Mothers Love is about the things my mum taught me when I was younger that I may have found annoying but now I appreciate her for instilling those things in me as they’ve made me the woman I am today. The song begins with me listing some of those things ‘turning up the heat, pray before I eat, conquer all defeat, take shoes off my feet before I enter the crib, where I live I will give my all to you and everything that I do.”
